The Village

Here is a small look into the world of Nightmute, AK.

These are the houses that are right by the school.  Many of the other houses are off the boardwalk.

The road heading to the store.  The small building with the blue roof is a steam house.  Almost every house has their own steam house.

As you walk down the boardwalk, you need to make sure the small children don't ninja attack you from the boardwalk railings.  Their favorite game at the beginning of the school year was "tackle the new teachers."

At the end of the boardwalk is a natural spring.  It has the tastiest water. The kids bring their own cups to fill up at the spring.

The Post Office
We walk to the post office everyday to check for packages.  Sometimes we switch it up and take the Honda.  We usually gather a small army of children by the time we get there.  They are always willing to help carry back our boxes.  Last time I had 2 boxes, and I didn't have to carry either of them back.

The store is the yellow building. The store just got slush puppy machines.  Almost every kid we pass has a huge slush puppy in their hands.

A view of the school from the boardwalk. My house is the white building just right of the school.
