Day 3 of Road Trip

Gardiner MT - Yellowstone National Park, day 2

Today we decided to go back into Yellowstone to check out the "animal" side of the park.  We were told that the eastern side of the park has more animals, and we were quite successful in spotting some different animals.

Our ultimate destination was the Tower Falls.

Along the way, we saw two herds of bison cross in front of our car.
One herd had an adorable baby bison.

For two days we have been trying to spot a big horned sheep.
Today we finally found one by the side of the road.

Daddy was super excited.  Big horned sheep are his favorite!

The main highlight of today was seeing THREE black bears out and about.  We followed the guys with the giant camera lenses to find the bears.

One of the bears was the biggest black bear the rangers have seen all spring.  Another was a smaller bear, only about a year or two old.
