Day Light

I know the biggest question on everyone's mind is: "how much day light do we get?"
No, I don't have days of complete darkness, just less sunlight than the lower 48.

When I first moved in August, the sun set was past midnight, maybe 1:00 am.  I was not awake this late to find out.  The sun rose very early in the morning.  I think it was up by 5:00 in the morning.  Pretty much, the entire time I was awake, the sun was shining.

As we are inching closer and closer to the shortest day of the year, the amount of sunshine has drastically changed since August.

The sun rises now while we are in school.  School starts at 8:45 am and it is still pitch black.  The sun starts to peek out around 10:00 am and is fully up by 11 am.  I took this picture of the sunrise at the end of September when the sun rose around 8:00 am.  I was on my way to school.

The sun is now setting around 5:30 pm.  My goal of being home before dark is slowly disappearing.  I can watch the sun set from my classroom.  I feel like the sun will start setting around the same time that school lets out.  I took this picture of the sunset last week as I was heading home from school. It was around 6:00 pm.
