Mary's Christmas Vacation

Well... my vacation has started pretty rocky, but I'm finally on my way home. One baby step at a time.

It all started on Friday.  The first leg of my journey was getting out of Nightmute and into Bethel. However, there was freezing rain in Bethel, so all flights were on weather delay. All flights in and out of Nightmute were cancelled all day.  I was still in good shape at this point because I had one more opportunity to get to Bethel on Saturday morning.  My flight to Anchorage wasn't until the afternoon.

Saturday morning rolls around, and the weather in Nightmute was beautiful.  You could see the lights from Toksook across the tundra it was so clear.  I thought for sure that we would be flying to Bethel.  However, after calling the airlines over 50 times, we found out all flights were still delayed.  So, I missed my chance to get to Anchorage, and therefore missed all my connection flights for the rest of my trip.

I was able to reschedule my flight to Anchorage for Sunday, and I was able to catch an evening flight to Bethel.  Things were looking up.  Until I tried rescheduling my connection flights from Anchorage to Cleveland. It looked like I wasn't flying out until the 25th.  I then was able to get a flight out of Anchorage for the night of the 24th and I will be back into Cleveland on the afternoon of the 25th.  I get to spend 2 days hanging out in Anchorage and I get to spend Christmas at the airport.  I can't wait! (I hope you can sense the sarcasm.)
