This year's winter has been quite uneventful. There is only a sprinkling of snow and a bit of ice. The river is frozen over, but everything else looks like it did in October. I think Ohio and Alaska got their winters mixed up this year.
Lately we have been having spring like weather. The temperature has been in the high 30s and some of the snow is melting already. The wind has also started to die down.
I took this picture on my way home from Bethel last weekend. I took it right before the plane landed in the village.
Along with the incoming spring, the daylight has been changing drastically. The sun is starting to rise at 8:00 am and is setting at 9:30 pm. At Christmas, the sun was rising around 10:30-11 am and setting at 4:30 pm. By the time I leave in May, the sun will rise before I wake up and set past midnight.
I took this picture at 9:00 pm last week.
