Basketball is a favorite in the village. There are always kiddos playing on the playdeck and in the gym. The middle school basketball team has been very unfortunate this season. They have not been able to travel to any other villages for tournaments. We have been weathered out the whole season. The team has not been able to play against any other school.
Last weekend the school had a basketball day. The 3rd and 4th grade team had a game against each other and the middle school team also played. In the evening there was a men's night tournament as well. The student council provided a concession stand with cookies, popcorn, and chili for sale. All the proceeds went to the archery team.
Our gym is smaller than half of a normal sized gym and there is very little room for spectators. If you're not paying attention, you could get hit by a player or a ball. We use rolling benches for the spectators and they are practically in the middle of the action.
